Niels Verdijck, Customer Support Engineer at Diabatix, will provide an in-depth explanation of TPMS (Triply Periodic Minimal Surface) structures and their advantages in thermal design. TPMS structures are a class of mathematically defined surfaces that repeat periodically in three dimensions, characterized by their high surface area-to-volume ratios and complex geometries. Their particular shapes makes them effective at heat transfer, reducing material usage, and increasing structural strength in thermal management applications.
Ir. Verdijck joined Diabatix team in July 2021, after achieving his master’s degree in mechanical engineering at the renowned University of Leuven. During his time at the University, Niels worked on multi-objective topology optimization of a microjet cooler. Currently, as Customer Support Engineer, he focuses on helping ColdStream users with their projects by providing them with insights and feedback.
