New ColdStream Export Feature Added

Diabatix

We have added a new capability in ColdStream that makes it easier to connect your generative thermal design work with your trusted CFD solvers such as Ansys and OpenFOAM.

This feature helps you move from design generation to detailed verification with less manual work-fewer errors and a smoother overall workflow.

Ensure efficiency in your current CFD process

With the new export options, you can take geometries generated in ColdStream and import them straight into your existing Ansys or OpenFOAM setup.

You keep your current CFD templates and material libraries, while ColdStream carries over the case intent by translating your ColdStream setup into the equivalent boundary condition definitions for the target solver.

The result is a more efficient loop between design generation and detailed CFD analysis which helps you evaluate more design variants in less time.

Convenience with compatibility

We know most teams already have a well established CFD toolchain. The new export option is built to fit into that reality instead of causing friction through incompatibilities.

Once a design is ready in ColdStream you can export it in a format ready to be opened in Ansys or OpenFOAM with consistent geometry and naming. This reduces tedious preparation work and lowers the risk of translation issues between tools.

In practice this means you can go from generative thermal design to familiar CFD post processing and reporting with minimal friction.

Front-loading Optimisation before Simulation

Traditionally, a workflow may look like this:
Design > simulate > optimise > simulate > optimise > simulate > optimise > simulate, and so on.

With ColdStream, you have the capability to discover designs that are already optimised based on your project’s thermal needs.

The workflow may look like: Design > Run ColdStream Standard Case > Simulate > (Run Custom Generative Design)  Simulate > Export.

Not only does this significantly reduce the trial and error of design simulation, it also enables designers to discover optimised (and optionally custom generative) designs specific to their project’s needs. This results in time savings, confidence and clarity for thermal engineers who want high performing designs.
